Identify the clinical task before choosing an answer
Step 2 CK assesses the application of clinical knowledge to patient care. The same presentation can lead to different questions about diagnosis, investigation, treatment, prevention or communication. Read the actual task and the patient’s setting before comparing options.
The official Step 2 CK overview ↗ describes the examination. FreeUSMLE practice results are educational feedback, not an official score or a validated prediction.
Move between subject review and mixed blocks
Subject practice can help organize a weak area in medicine, pediatrics, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry or another available clinical discipline. Mixed blocks require you to select the relevant approach without being told the subject first.
Choose the available unused, previously incorrect or bookmarked questions when building a block. Counts and ready forms reflect what is currently eligible; a source title or large count alone does not establish comprehensive clinical coverage.
Make explanation review specific
- State the clinical problem and what the question asks you to decide.
- Identify the history, examination or investigation finding that changes the decision.
- Compare the retained answer with the closest alternative, rather than memorizing a letter.
- Record an uncertainty that needs checking in current authoritative guidance.
Use Tutor mode for feedback after each checked answer. Use Test mode when you want to postpone feedback until the block is submitted. Neither setting turns a custom block into an official self-assessment.
Keep official practice alongside independent review
Official Step 2 CK sample questions ↗ includes sample PDF and interactive testing links. Refer to the official page for the current software and examination instructions instead of relying on old screenshots or an unverified download year.
Provided source explanations and AI-written teaching have different labels in this bank. Unresolved answer keys or essential missing material are excluded from scored practice when identified. Full source PDF downloads and original scans are not hosted in this cloud edition; reviewed essential figures remain available with the question.
