Using the question bank

Make a free question block useful

A useful session has a purpose: learn a mechanism, review a clinical decision or check what you can retrieve without feedback.

Choose the exam and the purpose

Start with Step 1 foundations, Step 2 CK clinical reasoning or Step 3 decisions and case preparation. Then choose a block size you can also review. Finishing questions without examining the reasoning can leave the original gap unchanged.

Subject filters organize focused work; mixed blocks make you identify the topic for yourself. The available question pool and complete forms are shown in the study interface. A question count does not establish unique clinical coverage or guarantee that every exam topic is represented.

Tutor and Test answer different needs

In Tutor mode, choose an answer and check it to reveal feedback. In Test mode, answers remain hidden until you submit the block. You can use a timer as a study constraint, but this is a custom practice interface rather than an official examination.

  1. State the question’s actual task before reading the explanation.
  2. Explain the decisive clue and why the nearest alternative is less appropriate.
  3. Write a short learning point, then revisit it later without looking at the old answer.

Guest practice or a saved account

You can start a guest block without signing up. Guest answers and notes are temporary; browser storage, expiry and separate-tab behavior affect whether a visit can be resumed. Guest activity is not automatically imported into a new account.

A free account saves study records so you can return to blocks, notes and progress. Review the privacy notice and browser-storage details, especially on a shared device. Do not enter patient-identifying information in study notes.

Read the teaching with its source in view

The bank distinguishes supplied material from AI-assisted original questions and explanations. AI-written teaching can contain errors, and a source label is not a guarantee of an authentic official key. Identified unresolved keys or essential missing context are held out of scoring.

Use official USMLE samples and NBME resources alongside independent practice. Full source PDFs and original page scans are not hosted in this cloud edition; reviewed essential figures and available explanation text remain part of question review. No practice percentage is a guaranteed USMLE result.
