Terms of Use
The conditions for using this free educational service.
The service and your agreement
FreeUSMLE is an independent question bank for medical education. These terms apply to its website and study tools. Creating an account requires an affirmative agreement to these terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Accounts are for people aged 18 or older who can lawfully enter this agreement. Guest access is optional and does not create a saved account. The service is not directed to children under 13.
Educational use
Questions, explanations, AI teaching, progress summaries and study plans are educational resources. They are not medical advice, a clinical decision service, an official examination or a guarantee of passing or achieving a particular score. Read the Medical & AI notice.
You remain responsible for checking current authoritative guidance and for your own study and professional decisions. Do not use the service to diagnose or treat a real person or to replace supervision, required training or official examination instructions.
Accounts and temporary visits
Use accurate account information, keep credentials secure, and do not use another person’s account or try to access another person’s records. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. Do not put patient-identifying information or confidential exam content in notes or support messages.
Guest activity is temporary and carried in an encrypted tab-storage copy, not saved to a persistent personal database or automatically imported into an account. Four-hour idle expiry, loss of browser storage or encryption-key changes can end access. Separate tabs can fork histories, and older copied tokens may remain usable until expiry after the current visit is ended. Guest practice is not a secure examination system. Saved-account features also depend on service availability; use available study-record downloads for your own important notes.
Price and availability
Question practice and optional accounts are offered without a subscription in this version. Free infrastructure has usage limits, and features may be unavailable during maintenance, quota exhaustion or outages. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage, complete topic coverage or continued availability of a particular question.
If paid features are ever introduced, their prices and terms must be presented before any purchase. These terms do not authorize a charge or automatic paid upgrade.
Content and permitted use
Rights in supplied source material remain with the relevant rightsholders. Rights, if any, in original site material remain with its applicable creators. A free-access website does not make every question public domain or grant a blanket open-content license.
Use materials we are entitled to provide for your personal educational practice, subject to any item-specific restrictions. We cannot grant redistribution rights in third-party material. Do not remove attribution, redistribute unauthorized source collections, or imply official endorsement. See Sources & copyright.
You retain any rights in your own notes. You give us only the permissions needed to store, display to you and process your input to operate and protect the service. This is not a public license to your private notes.
Unacceptable use
Do not submit leaked or confidential examination content, identifiable patient information or unlawful material. Do not impersonate others, harass people, bypass access controls, interfere with grading or other users, exploit vulnerabilities, or automate activity that overloads the service. This does not restrict a right that applicable law gives you.
Report suspected vulnerabilities privately through Contact. Do not access other users’ information to demonstrate an issue.
Corrections, holds and external services
We may correct presentation or explanations, remove material, or hold questions with unresolved keys or essential missing context out of scoring. Existing sessions can keep older snapshots; current holds may change scoring eligibility. These checks do not certify perfect accuracy.
Official practice links and infrastructure services are operated by others. Their availability and terms are outside our control. Interactive CCS practice is not reproduced merely by reading multiple-choice questions or case summaries here.
Warranty disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, FreeUSMLE is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that content is current or error-free, that a question or source key is authentic, or that access and saved data will always be available.
No explanation, study plan, support message or practice result creates a guarantee of passing an examination, achieving a score, obtaining a license or being clinically competent. You should independently verify important material and use qualified clinical supervision for actual care.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the project operator and contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary losses arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to use the service. This includes lost study time, lost data, lost opportunities or expected examination outcomes, even if the possibility of those losses has been raised.
These limits apply only where lawful and do not promise complete immunity. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, recklessness, or any other liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer and privacy rights remain in place. A disclaimer does not establish permission to use third-party material or excuse an intellectual-property violation.
Pennsylvania law and disputes
Subject to mandatory applicable protections, these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and applicable United States federal law, without relying on conflict-of-law rules to remove a right that cannot be waived.
Where lawful, a dispute may be brought before an appropriate Pennsylvania court that has jurisdiction. This is not an exclusive forum requirement and does not prevent a complaint to a regulator or a proceeding in another forum where applicable law permits or requires it. This version does not impose mandatory arbitration or a class-action waiver.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue only to the extent permitted by law. These terms are not a representation that every limitation will be enforceable in every situation.
Suspension, changes and contact
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary for abuse, security, legal obligations or operation of the service. Contact us about an error or account-access issue. Requests concerning your personal data are handled under the Privacy Policy.
We identify changes by revision date and provide additional notice or seek renewed agreement where required.
